Gone Green

Why "Gone Green" instead of the popular "Going Green"? All sorts of companies are jumping on the Green bandwagon these days. At Rolling Ridge, we have always carried natural and organic products in our Garden Center. We've been reusing and recycling for more than 30 years. And, of course, we are in the Green industry of PLANTS! So, what has changed? We still carry a wide range of natural and organic products, but now they're easier to find!

History of Rolling Ridge Nursery and The Christmas Store

In 1894, Henry Schulz stabled his wagon team at the corner of Gore and Marshall, in the middle of pastureland. People would come out by train from the city of St. Louis to hire Henry’s team to move their goods, furniture, and families “to the country”, which Webster Groves was considered at that time. In 1959, Henry’s son-in-law, James McMillan, Jr, inherited the stable. Along with his sons,  Jim III and Sandy, they began a small business first selling compost and straw, then evolving into what today is known as Rolling Ridge Nursery.
